The Coronavirus pandemic had almost canned this year's edition of the much loved and celebrated Indian Premier League AKA IPL 2020. However, with some relaxations making our way, the latest season of IPL, though a bit delayed, is slated to take place next month in the UAE. Ahead of the same, former Indian skipper and the captain of Chennai Super Kings, MS Dhoni, recently underwent a COVID-19 test as a precautionary measure. As per a report in Times Of India, Dhoni's test reports have come negative and the cricketer is all set to swing into action for the highly anticipated IPL 2020.

Reportedly, Dhoni had submitted his swab test to a Ranchi hospital alongside his CSK teammate, Monu Kumar Singh. After being tested negative, the former Indian skipper is expected to join the five-day training camp, which will commence on August 15, that is, tomorrow. Well, undergoing a COVID-19 test is a mandatory rule for all the team players. BCCI's SOP for the IPL, in an official statement, said, "All Indian players and team support staff must undergo two COVID-19 PCR tests, 24 hours apart, in the week before assembling in the franchises’ city of choice."

It was further revealed that whoever tests positive, will have to undergo quarantine and after completing 14 days, the concerned person will be asked to take two more COVID-19 tests, 24 hours apart.

IPL 2020 was originally slated to start from March 29 with a face-off between CSK and Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium.  However, it was then postponed to April 15, followed by an indefinite delay due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, as per the lockdown rules and regulations issued by the government.
