Late last month, Chennai Super Kings player Suresh Raina had announced that he will not be available for the entire season of IPL 2020. While the reason was not known for quite some time, later it was reported that
his uncle has passed away while his aunt is in critical condition after a violent attack in Pathankot. It reportedly happened on August 19, when Suresh’s relatives were sleeping on the terrace of their residence in Pathankot's Thariyal village. Later, Mr. Raina had made a tweet and requested Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh.
Now in the recent development, Punjab Police announced that the case of Suresh Raina’s kin has been solved and arrest of three members of an inter-state gang of robber-criminals is made. In a detailed statement, DGP Dinkar Gupta said 11 other accused are yet to be arrested. It was being said, during the deadly attack, Suresh’s uncle had died on the spot, while aunt was rushed to the nearby hospital.
Requesting Punjab Chief Minister, Suresh Raina had tweeted, “What happened to my family is Punjab was beyond horrible. My uncle was slaughtered to death, my bua & both my cousins had sever injuries. Unfortunately my cousin also passed away last night after battling for life for days. My bua is still very very critical & is on life support.”
