The debate around Indian cricketers being accompanied by their respective better halves for their tours is never-ending. However, a recent revelation made by Former India wicketkeeper Farokh Engineer has got the internet talking. Recently, he criticized and mocked Indian skipper Virat Kohli and the current MSK Prasad-led selection committee, by calling it a ‘Mickey Mouse selection committee,’ as he feels that they don’t have the appropriate qualification for the job. In fact, Engineer also revealed that he saw a few Indian World Cup selectors serving tea to Virat Kohli’s wife and actress, Anushka Sharma. In a conversation with TOI, the 82-year-old, who is known for being vocal about his opinions, told, "We have got a Mickey Mouse selection committee. Virat Kohli has a major impact (in the process) which is very good. But how are the selectors qualified? Between them, have they played about 10-12 Test matches.” Further, he elaborated on the tea incident by adding, "I didn't even know one of the selectors during the World Cup and I asked him who the hell he was because he was wearing the India blazer and he said he was one of the selectors. All they were doing was getting Anushka Sharma cups of tea," Engineer added.
As per Farokh, former batsman Dilip Vengsarkar is the appropriate choice for the Indian selection committee. He even approves of Sourav Ganguly as the new BCCI President because Farokh feels that the CoA members are clueless when it comes to running the Indian cricket board.
