A mishap on the sets of legendary actor Kamal Haasan, Indian 2, killed three people. The art assistant, assistant director and production assistant were killed after a crane came crashing down. Post this, the actor himself had posted a tweet about this mishap, paying his condolences to the grieving families. Also, post this mishap, the crane operator had fled from the location and had gone into hiding. Now as per reports, the cops in charge of this case have caught hold of him.
As per reports in DT News, Tamil Nadu cops have caught the crane operator and have booked him under four sections. The reports also mentioned of summons being sent to director Shankar and actor post the mishap, which lead to the death of three on the sets. Reports also stated of the crane operator being an untrained professional. General secretary of FEFSI Angamuthu Shanmugam has shared in his conversation with a leading daily about filmmakers signing up with less trained professionals due to lack of dates and facing time constraint issues.
He was quoted saying, “While FEFSI has a number of units to handle various things, film makers often end up choosing the non-trained people due to time constraint and date availability. Members of FEFSI unit know how to handle these machines and they are trained for the environment of shooting. It was the biggest mistake and now we have lost our people.”
His tweet read, “I have spoken to doctors looking after the accident in the hospital. First aid is provided and appropriate treatment works are carried out. Let them dawn tonight with the hope that they will get better soon.”
