Teacher's Day is special. It celebrates the great connection that a student shares with his/her Guru. A Teacher plays a very important role in a man’s life as they are responsible for carving his/her personality as well as drawing the future. On the fifth of September, all of us celebrate Teachers' Day. It’s a one-day celebration that lets teachers take a back seat and enjoy a few moments without stress. It is celebrated all across India. It is to honour Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.
The 2019’s Teacher's Day would be Dr. Radhakrishnan's 131st birth anniversary. He was the one to start with the tradition of Teacher's Day and he was also the second President of free India. He was one of the most distinguished scholars of the 20th Century and had been a professor at various universities like the University of Calcutta, University of Oxford and The University of Chicago.
For years, Teacher's Day is celebrated with much enthusiasm. Though it not a national holiday, it is equivalent to a holiday as no teaching takes place. School and colleges organize various activities and events to celebrate this day. Flowers are given to teachers as well as food is organized for them. It is no less than a Diwali day for teachers as they dress up in their best attires and make each moment count.
