Power Rangers fans witnessed a major setback on Monday as Jason David Frank, who is popularly known for playing the Green Power Ranger Tommy Oliver on the 1990s children's series Mighty Morphin Power Rangers passed away. He was 49. 

Justine Hunt, Frank’s manager, issued a statement on Sunday and announced Frank’s death. However, she refrained from revealing the cause of his death or when he passed away. Furthermore, she also asked the fans for “privacy of his family and friends during this horrible time as we come to terms with the loss of such a wonderful human being.”

As per the reports, the cause of death has not been immediately identified. Frank is survived by his four children, sons Hunter and Jacob, plus daughters Skye and Jenna. The news of his death came as a shock to the actor's fans as well as his friends and colleagues. 





Well, the loss of Jason David Frank was a major heartbreak for all the 90s’ kids as they lost their beloved hero. 

Walter Emmanuel Jones, the original Black Power Ranger who co-starred with Frank in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, took to his Instagram handle and expressed his disbelieve over Frank’s death. “My heart is sad to have lost another member of our special family," wrote Jones. 

Thuy Trang, who played the original Yellow Power Ranger, died in a car accident in 2001 at age 27.



Jason David Frank, who popularly starred in the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers franchise, which ran from 1993 to 1996 also appeared in other Power Rangers projects, including Power Rangers Zeo, Turbo and Dino Thunder.
