Well, this year the celebration will start on September 10. The festival is the celebration of Lord Ganesh on Chaturthi, the god of wisdom and prosperity.

Shubh Muhurat:
As we all know what Ganesh Chaturthi is one of the festivals celebrated on a grand level is dedicated to Lord Ganesh in India. In the year 2021, the celebrations for the 10-day festival will begin on September 10.

Ganesh Chaturthi is marked on the fourth day of the Bhadrapada month in the Hindu calendar, which falls in the month of August-September.

Madhyahna Ganesh Puja Muhurat:
The Madhyahna Ganesh Puja Muhurat begins at 11:21 AM to 01:49 PM (Ganesh Puja is performed during Madhyahna as it is said that Lord Ganesh was born during Madhyahna Muhurat.)

Important to follow:
On Ganesh Chaturthi, it is suggested to avoid seeing Moon. Therefore, time to avoid (Moon sighting) - 09:23 AM to 09:21 PM.

Significance of Ganesh Chaturthi:
On the day of Ganesh Chaturthi, the devotees bring an idol of Lord Ganesh to their home and worship it during the festival. On Ganesh Chaturthi, Lord Ganesh is worshipped as the God of wisdom, prosperity, and good fortune in these 10 days. After the festival, on the 10th day, the idol is immersed in a water body with a lot of fanfare. The significance of immersion signals the return of Lord Ganesh to his abode after staying with his devotees for 10 days.

The Mahurat of Visarjan on Anant Chaturdashi and Ganesh Visarjan:
The farewell day for Lord Ganesh is known as ‘Anant Chaturdashi’ or 'Ganesh Visarjan'. The day of Ganesh Visarjan (immersion) is the saddest part of the celebration of this festival this is the time to bid goodbye to our beloved Lord Ganesha. The festival is finished with a huge procession followed by drum beats, devotional songs, dance, and joy by immersing the idols in the local water bodies like rivers, seas, etc.
