Kannada filmmaker and actor Darshan Thoogudeepa’s ardent fan Renuka Swamy’s murder case has been taking the nation by storm. The former’s alleged involvement in the case and the horrific details that have surfaced have left the netizens in shock. Amid the investigation into the matter, media reports suggest that various filmmakers have approached the film chamber to register titles for the murder case and highlight the actor’s involvement. Referring to a report by The Times of India, Free Press Journal reports that the film chamber has turned down the title requests due to the ongoing legal proceedings.
Opened up about his title D-Gang, filmmaker Rocky Somil revealed that he conceived it 2 years ago and even composed a song for it. He sought to register the title following Darshan’s arrest, citing similar programs on news channels as motivation. According to the Free Press Journal, Somil mentioned that they are hopeful of obtaining the title, despite the film chamber’s recent rejection, as it was planned long before the current situation. They even have the evidence to support the claim.
