This awards season, we saw many Hollywood celebrities address some important issues in their acceptance speech. From Joaquin Phoenix to Brad Pitt, these celebs took the platform to deliver speeches, some political, some relating to climate change and other topics. The 2020 Oscars was a special one for Brad, since the four-time Academy Award nominee won his first-ever Academy Award for acting. In his acceptance speech, he took a dig at the senators who voted against the Democrats’ request to call new witnesses at the President of US Donald Trump’s impeachment trial.

Donald Trump, at the reelection campaign rally in Colorado Springs, threw shade at Brad Pitt over the latter’s political speech. Addressing the crowd, he first asked, “How bad was the Academy Awards this year?" Talking about Brad Pitt, he said, “He got up and said little wiseguy statements. He’s a little wiseguy.” He also said that he was ‘never a fan’ of Brad. That’s not all, he also dissed the movie Parasite for winning the Best Picture, and said, “We got enough problems with South Korea, with trade. On top of it, they give them the best movie of the year?" Parasite won the Best Picture Award and became the first non-English language film to have won this award, thereby creating history.

Donald Trump then claimed that he had not watched Parasite, saying, “was it good? I don’t know.” Check out the video:

Meanwhile, Brad Pitt, in his Oscars 2020 speech, had said, “They told me I only have 45 seconds up here, which is 45 seconds more than the Senate gave John Bolton this week. I’m thinking maybe Quentin (Tarantino) does a movie about it. In the end, the adults do the right thing.”
