With the IPL 2020 tournament just around the corner, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) CEO KS Vishwanathan made a tweet a few days back informing fans that CSK player Suresh Raina returned to India from UAE. The CSK CEO cited ‘personal reasons’ and stated that the batsman will not be available for the entire season. Later, a rift between Raina and CSK skipper MS Dhoni was speculated to be the reason behind the batsman’s return. Now, Raina breaks his silence on the sad demise of his relatives in tweets on social media and urges Punjab Police to look into the matter.
On Twitter, Suresh Raina shared the details of the tragic demise of his relatives and tweeted, “What happened to my family is Punjab was beyond horrible.” As the CSK player mentioned that something beyond horrible happened to his family back in Punjab, putting rumours to rest, Raina shared that his uncle was killed and that his aunt and cousin severed injuries, out of which one cousin passed away, unfortunately. He wrote, “My uncle was slaughtered to death, my bua & both my cousins had sever injuries. Unfortunately my cousin also passed away last night after battling for life for days. My bua is still very very critical & is on life support.”
Suresh Raina mentioned that his father’s sister is still very very critical and she is on life support. As Raina shared the news of the demise of his uncle and cousin, he shared another tweet urging Punjab Police to look into the matter and help the family. He tweeted, “Till date we don’t know what exactly had happened that night & who did this. I request @PunjabPoliceInd to look into this matter. We at least deserve to know who did this heinous act to them. Those criminals should not be spared to commit more crimes. @capt_amarinder @CMOPb.”
