The former Duke and Duchess of Sussex Prince Harry and Meghan Markle became the talk of the town when the royal couple decided to make a ‘royal’ exit from their duties. Since then, they kept buzzing the headlines for various reasons. Moreover, Meghan and Harry have shifted from Canada with their son Archie and moved to Los Angeles amidst the Coronavirus lockdown, leaving everyone surprised. As Meghan and Harry are trying to make LA their happy place and trying to settle in, it seems like the couple still has loose strings that need tying up in Canada, as per reports in Page Six.
According to the same portal, Meghan and Harry are yet to settle the hefty cost of their security arrangements during their stay in Canada which was reportedly initially paid by Canadian taxpayers. The reports also mentioned that as per the Canadian Taxpayers Federation, the royal couple reportedly spent more than CAD$56,384 (US$41,534) in security fees between November 2019 and January 2020. That’s not it, the reports further stated that the tally is likely to go higher once other expenses are taken into consideration.
Things go a little out of control when the reports also said that nearly 100,000 Canadians have signed a petition saying that they should not bear the costs for Meghan and Harry's security. However, it is said that Meghan and Harry are also planning for a reimbursement plan, as reported by the Telegraph. Well, now we have to see how it pans out to be.
