Farhan Akhtar was among the few Bollywood celebrities who took to their social media to speak about the Citizenship (Amendment) Act. There are several protests taking place across the nation against the CAA and also the violent clashes at the Jamia Millia University in Delhi. Several Bollywood celebrities such as Ayushmann Khurrana, Rajkummar Rao, Parineeti Chopra, Alia Bhatt, Anurag Kashyap and others raised their voice and expressed their concerns. Farhan Akhtar, in his tweet, mentioned that he will be joining the protest against CAA and NRC in Mumbai on the 19th, and now his Tweet has landed him in a soup.

Farhan Akhtar tweeted this morning, and his tweet read, “Here’s what you need to know about why these protests are important. See you on the 19th at August Kranti Maidan, Mumbai. The time to protest on social media alone is over." Soon after, senior IPS officer Sandeep Mittal pointed out that he has broken the law and tagged the Mumbai Police and the National Investigation Agency of India, requesting them to take action. IPS officer Sandeep Mittal shared a video explaining section 121 of Penal Code, and wrote, “You also need to know that you ' ve committed an Offence u/s 121 of Indian Penal Code & it is not unintentional. @MumbaiPolice & @NIA_India are you listening. Please think of the Nation that is giving you everything in your Life. A few days ago, Sandeep Mittal had also replied to Javed Akhtar’s tweets condemning the violent protests in the Jamia Millia university campus. The IPS officer tweeted, “Dear Legal Expert Please elaborate the law of land, the section number and name of the Act etc so that we are also enlightened. Regards.”
