With several protests against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) taking place across the nation, Farhan Akhtar shared in his tweet yesterday that he would be joining the protest in Mumbai too. He took to Twitter and also urged his followers to join the protest on the 19th, in August Kranti Maidan saying that the time to protest on social media alone is over. Along with the tweet, he also shared a picture describing what CAA and NRC are, and why people are protesting against it.
Earlier, Sandeep Mittal had also replied to Javed Akhtar’s tweets condemning the violent protests in the Jamia Millia university campus. The IPS officer tweeted, “Dear Legal Expert Please elaborate the law of land, the section number and name of the Act etc so that we are also enlightened. Regards.”
Meanwhile, after Farhan Akhtar realized that the map used in his tweet was an inaccurate one, apologized on Twitter. He wrote, “While I stand by the text, I have only noticed that the map of India on the graphic is inaccurate. Every inch and part of Kashmir is a part of India and I reject the inaccurate map. I regret not noticing it earlier. My sincerest apologies for the oversight.”
