Britain's Got Talent magician David Watson, who auditioned to be on the show a record 12 times, was tragically found dead at his home. The 62-year-old from Altrincham, Cheshire, passed away last Thursday and was discovered after police forced entry into his house in Altrincham, reported The Sun.
Concerns were raised by the retired NHS worker's family after he failed to respond to calls and messages.
The report states that David's death is not being treated as suspicious. A source said: “His family couldn’t get hold of him for a few days. He wasn't picking up and his Whatsapp messages were all still unread,” as reported by the DailyMail.
The magician was a favourite on the show and first appeared in the 2008 series as an impressionist. He previously impersonated three politicians; Tony Blair, William Hague, and David Blunkett. But, unfortunately, he did not proceed to the next round.
David returned two years later for series four of the show.
Britain's Got Talent judge Amanda Holden paid tribute to the star performer, sharing a snap of David on her Instagram account writing: "So sad to hear that @davidjwatsonbgt has passed away. He was always up for a laugh and such a good sport on @bgt. We will miss him."
Despite his first audition, in which he donned a bald cap to play politician William Hague, not going so well, David was loved by Britain's Got Talent fans.
In 2010 he returned to the audition stage with an 'Incredible Hulk' performance.
In the last season, David made it through to the second round with the judges calling it his 'best audition yet' - having wowed them with a ‘magic rainbow’ act.
