Bhuvan Bam, one of India's most beloved YouTubers, has not only showcased his comedic talents on his channel BB Ki Vines but has also ventured into acting with web series and short films. Despite his rising fame and success, Bhuvan has faced significant personal challenges, particularly dealing with his late father's drinking problem. In a candid conversation on the YouTube channel We Are Yuvaa's show, Be A Man, Yaar, Bhuvan opened up about this deeply emotional and difficult period in his life.
During the interview, Bhuvan described the turmoil caused by his father's alcoholism. He recounted how he tried to understand and help his father, asking him why he drank during the day, especially when the family had reasons to celebrate, like reaching 10 million followers on his channel and planning family trips. His father's response was always resistant, insisting on being left alone and not interfered with, even as he acknowledged his happiness for Bhuvan's achievements. Bhuvan felt powerless, unable to forcibly take away the alcohol because of the respect he had for his father.
The situation at home often turned chaotic due to his father's drinking. Despite his online success and the adoration of his fans, who would gather outside his house in large numbers, Bhuvan was deeply uncomfortable with the domestic strife. The constant presence of fans outside contrasted starkly with the turmoil inside, where he was begging his father not to scream and create scenes. This led Bhuvan to stop going to his balcony, avoiding the public eye while dealing with the private chaos.
The continuous domestic unrest pushed Bhuvan to consider moving out. Tragically, just as he was about to make this significant life change, paying the stamp duty for a new house, his father suffered a brain stroke. This event shattered Bhuvan's world. His father, unable to recognize him for six to seven months, eventually regained recognition and abstained from drinking for the next two years. However, the family faced another devastating blow when Bhuvan lost both his parents to Covid-19 in 2021.
Reflecting on these experiences, Bhuvan shared the profound impact of these events on his life. The challenges of dealing with his father's alcoholism, the domestic strife it caused, and the eventual loss of his parents were deeply transformative. Despite the outward appearance of success and fame, Bhuvan's personal journey has been marked by significant hardship and resilience.
