Bella Hadid Opens Up On Her Alcohol Addiction, Reveals How It Became ‘Lot Harder To Pick Up Glass’

The 25-year-old recently spilled the beans on her mental health saying the fact that she could not use a personal stylist in a long time was one of the reasons why she was in a “weird place mentally”.

The supermodel got candid about her issues with alcohol and stated that she decided to give up drinking after she realized she felt she won’t be able to control herself any longer. Bella Hadid’s sister Gigi too made news recently after she reportedly split with her musician beau Zayn Malik.

In a recent interview with InStyle magazine, Bella shed light on cutting out booze saying it became "a lot harder to pick up the glass" after her doctor showed her the effects of alcohol on her brain. 


Bella confessed, “I have done my fair share of drinking.” The social media star reportedly quit drinking six months ago. Taking her drinking issue into the spotlight, she added, “I loved alcohol and it got to the point where even I started to, you know, cancel nights out that I felt like I wouldn't be able to control myself."

Bella continued, “I don't feel the need [to drink alcohol] because I know how it will affect me at 3 in the morning when I wake up with horrible anxiety thinking about that one thing I said five years ago when I graduated high school. 


She concluded, “There's just this never-ending effect of, essentially, you know, pain and stress over those few drinks that didn't really do much, you know?" The model was arrested for a DUI in 2014. She had to serve six months of probation, 25 hours of community service, and 20 hours of Alcoholic Anonymous meetings. Bella’s license too got suspended for a year.
