World-famous astrologer Bejan Daruwalla has passed away, allegedly due to COVID-19, on Friday in a hospital in Ahmedabad. He was 89 years old. According to reports on the Internet, the astrologer was put on ventilator at a private hospital in Ahmedabad last week. He had complained of having difficulty in breathing. Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani offered condolences. He took to Twitter and wrote, “Saddened by the demise of renowned Astrologer Shri Bejan Daruwalla. I pray for the departed soul. Condolences started to pour in as the news surfaced on the Internet. Bejan Daruwalla was a practicing Zoroastrian, and a Ganesha devotee. He is said to have predicted various Prime Ministerial victories over the years, including that of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Morarji Desai, and even Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Among other things, he is also said to have predicted the Bhopal Gas Tragedy, Sanjay Gandhi's accident as well as the assassination of Rajiv Gandhi.

Bejan Daruwalla is survived by his three children; sons Nastur and Fardun, and a daughter, Nazreen.
