From the last few days, Indian wrestler Babita Phogat has been hitting the headlines for all the wrong reasons. Not very long ago, Babita had almost lost her Twitter account for putting out a controversial tweet on Delhi’s Nizamuddin meet amid the Coronavirus outbreak. Now, the Commonwealth Games Gold Medalist has yet again grabbed the headlines for her sensationalised tweet that read, “Coronavirus is the second largest problem in India. Illiterate Jamati still remains number one.” A journalist was quick to take notice and slam Babita.
In his response, the man in question trolled the wrestler by writing how she didn’t her identity until a Muslim (Aamir Khan) did a film on her named Dangal. He further wrote how all the sportspeople, barring cricketers, are seen selling pani puri after some years. “A Muslim made her famous by making a film on her; or else, other players in this country, except cricketers, are seen selling Golgappa after many years,” read his reply to Babita Phogat’s tweet.
In response to his tweet, Babita wrote, “A film should also be made on people like you. And the name of that film should be the stone-pelting gang.”
