Commonwealth Games gold medalist, wrestler Babita Phogat’s is making headlines and amazingly for all the wrong reasons. The wrestler, who got married just a few months back, is now in news for targeting a community in her recent Tweets. It all started early this month and she’s been in news ever since. The wrestler courted controversy so much so that it divided Twitterverse into two, quite literally. People who are in favour of her communal tweets have a #ISupportBabitaPhogat trend, while others, who want her suspended are using #SuspendBabitaPhogat.
Babita has now taken to Instagram and posted a video about the same. But to everyone’s shock, she compares this event to Zaira Wasim’s withdrawal from the Industry. In the video, she drags her name and said she’s not Zaira Wasim who would be scared of these threats.”
She starts the video saying, “Sabhi desh wasiyon ki meri Ram Ram! Pichle kuch dino se maine ek do Tweet kiye the, uske baad se kaafi log mujhe Facebook messenger par, WhatsApp par, aur Twitter messenger par galat galat messages bhej rahe hain, gaaliyan de rahe hain. Kuch log phone karke bhi dhamkiyan de rahe hain, toh unlogon ko main ek baat kehna chahti hun. Kaan khol kar ek baat sunlo aur dimaag main baitha lo ki main Zaira Wasim nahi hun ki tumhari dhamkion se dar kar ghar pe baith jaungi. Main tumhari dhamkiyon se nahi darne wali.
By the end of the video, she continues to target the community for the meet which has given a boost to the COVID-19 cases. Just to bring you to date, Zaira Wasim quit Bollywood shortly before her last film's release The Sky Is Pink. Zaira and her family were reportedly getting a lot of threats from within the community and calling her being an actor 'blasphemy' according to Islam. Zaira played young Geeta Phogat in Nitesh Tiwari's Dangal.
