Commonwealth Games gold medalist, wrestler Babita Phogat’s communalized comment on Nizamuddin meet in Delhi has left her grabbing the headlines for all the wrong reasons. It all started early this month when she gave Nizamuddin meet a communal twist and it sparked controversy. The newlywed wrestler was slammed left, right and center for pointing towards Aamir Khan’s community and even her account was reported and suspended. Fans were quick to remind her that it was Aamir Khan who made her and her famous throughout the country. She got her account restored after she deleted the tweet.
As Babita continues to target a particular community in her Tweets, every now and then, pointing the Delhi meet over and over again, Twitterverse has been divided into two- a few in her favour, while others are opposing her to no end. People in favour of the wrestler have made hashtag #ISupportBabitaPhogat trend on number one, while others want her account to be suspended.
