Delhi’s Baba Ka Dhaba, owned by an elderly couple, shot to overnight fame after a video of them talking about their struggles had gone viral. The video was shot by YouTuber Gaurav Wasan, who had requested locales to visit the shop and even make some donations for the 80-year-old couple. But now the owner named Kanta Prasad has lodged a complaint against the YouTuber. In his complaint filed at Malviya Nagar Police station, owner Kanta Prasand accused him of not sharing financial details of donations he received.
According to a report in PTI, Kanta Prasad in his complaint stated that Gaurav, who shot their video and asked for donations from the social media community, has misappropriated the money. The report further stated that Wasan shared his family and friends’ bank account numbers without the knowledge of ‘Baba Ka Dhaba’ owners Kanta Prasad and his wife. The video of Kanta Prasad and his wife Badami Devi saw them tearfully recounting the ordeal of them being at home during the lockdown for months.
As per PTI, in his complaint, the Dhaba owner alleged that the YouTuber, “intentionally and deliberately shared only his and his family/friends bank details and mobile numbers with the donors and collected huge amount of donation through different mode of payments i.e bank account/wallets without providing any information to the complainant.”
