Article 370 Revoked From Jammu And Kashmir: Pakistan Announces Ban On Indian Films And Content

After the Indian Home Minister Amit Shah announced the revoking of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan has now sent out a new advisory banning Indian films from Pakistan. Raising a lot of controversies followed a tweet from the neighbouring country a ban on Indian films to be placed immediately. The tweet came from Pakistan PM Imran Khan’s adviser Firdaus Ashiq Awan.



After declaring Jammu and Kashmir a Union Territory and Ladakh a separate Union Territory, comes a tweet stating a ban on Indian Cinema in Pakistan. Pakistan PM Imran Khan’s adviser Firdaus Ashiq Awan tweeted, "No Indian cinema will be screened in any Pakistani cinema. Drama, films and Indian content of this kind will be completely banned in Pakistan. They will ointment on the wounds of Kashmiris. Every action will be taken to increase the unprecedented morale of the great Kashmiris.”  


In 2016 the Indian government had conducted a Surgical strike aiming at the terrorist camps in Pakistan, leading to tons of amendments in the equation with the neighbouring country, Pakistan. Since then the Indian film industry had stopped hiring talents from Pakistan and the channel 'Zindagi' that used to air Pakistani serials was also stopped overnight. 

But it was only after Pulwama terrorist attack on February 14, 2019, in Jammu and Kashmir where 40 CRPF jawans were martyred, the film industry out a full stop on all kinds of cultural exchange with the country. The producers decided that their films will not be distributed in Pakistan and no Indian film will release in the neighbouring country. Since January 2019, no Indian film has been released in Pakistan.
