Not good news for cricket lovers, as all-rounder Krunal Pandya tests positive for COVID-19. The cricketer was down with the virus on Tuesday during T20 International played between India and Sri Lanka. Hence, the match has been postponed and it will be likely played on Wednesday if the rest of the players test negative. As per reports in ANI, a source informed that after Krunal tested positive, the two teams were sent into isolation and the match will only be played after their test results are out.
The source of the news agency informed, "Krunal has tested positive and the T20I on Tuesday has been postponed and will happen on Wednesday if all the others test negative. The players are currently isolating." Thus, putting the Board of Control for Cricket in India on a hook as opener Prithvi Shaw and Suryakumar Yadav were supposed to travel to England. The two were reportedly replacements for the series to be played against England. Also, BCCI chose these two openers as all-rounder Washington Sundar, batsman Shubman Gill and pacer Avesh Khan were out of the series due to their injuries.
Washington Sundar is still recovering after he took an injection on his right-hand bowling finger during the 3-day practice session played against the County Select XI. Fast bowler Avesh Khan after getting an injury on his left thumb, has resulted in a fracture, thus keeping him too away from the series.
