Prince Harry and Meghan Markle moved to the US back in 2020 after they officially stepped down from their roles as senior members of the British Royal family. Harry and Meghan made several shocking allegations against the British Royal family during a bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey. Since the explosive tell-all interview with Oprah aired, Harry and Meghan have been hitting headlines. According to a report, after watching Harry and Meghan’s tell-all interview, a fundraiser was started to help the couple pay off their Los Angeles mansion mortgage.

As per a report in Yahoo! Style, a California based woman started a fundraiser to help Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to pay off their Los Angeles mansion mortgage that costs 19 million dollars. The report stated that the local set up the ‘Harry and Meghan $5 Donation to Buy Home’ on the internet. She started the fundraiser on the website GoFundMe, days after Harry and Meghan’s interview aired. According to the information available on the page, the lady was seeking donations of USD$5 (363. 09 INR) to reach a goal of USD$10,000,000, approximately over 700 million INR. The lady mentioned that since Harry and Meghan had parted with 6 million dollars for the downpayment of their home, they require 13 million to pay off the mortgage. She said, “I am raising funds to pay off the mortgage for the Montecito, California home of Harry and Meghan. When they came to the USA they were without jobs and with limited funds.”

Speaking with The Sun, the woman shared that helping people brings her happiness. She said, “I like to help people and help them in any way I can. That gives me happiness. If you needed a home, I’d do the same for you. It’s a good deed." She also mentioned that she is aware of the deals that Harry and Meghan have signed with Netflix and Spotify.

Meanwhile, the fundraiser started by the California local disappeared from the ‘GoFundMe’ site after a few days. The fundraiser got just 140 dollars in donations. The lady had mentioned that the fundraiser was ‘legal’ and ‘legitimate.’ She assured that the money would go directly to the bank where the Sussexes have their loan.
