James Bonds movies are synonymous to these handsome hunks Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig, don't you agree? No matter how many movies come and go, 007 is always entitled to a man and not a woman. If you see any 007 movies, women always play their love interest and femme fatal instead of them playing any meaty role. But looks like soon we will see a significant change in the casting if everything is planned accordingly, given the fact that Barbara Broccoli's insistence is that "Bond is male."

According to the recent reports, Pierce and Daniel want for casting shake-up and talks about a woman taking the helm of the story. During the promotion of Agatha Christie's book at Toronto Film Festival, Daniel said "of course" when he was asked about a woman playing the super spy in the Bond movies. While Brosnan, who played the super spy in four films said at the Deauville American Film Festival in France to a Hollywood reporter, "I think we've watched the guys do it for the last 40 years, get out of the way, guys, and put a woman up there. I think it would be exhilarating, it would be exciting."

"He's a male character. He was written as a male, and I think he'll probably stay as a male," Broccoli told the Guardian in October. "And that's fine. We don't have to turn male characters into women. Let's just create more female characters and make the story fit those female characters."  Brosnan told THR, "I don't think that is going to happen under their watch."

As we said, Barbara Broccoli's insistence is that "Bond is male," we don't know if this development is going to happen anytime soon.
