Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepping down from their royal duties and kick starting a new life in Canada happened at the beginning of 2020. Since then the couple has been residing in Canada with their son Archie. Amidst of Coronavirus Pandemic, came news of the former royal couple shifting their base to Los Angeles hit the internet. However, there was no confirmation on the same, U.S President Donald Trump clarified of the nation won’t be paying for the couple’s security in his tweet.
Now comes an official statement from the spokesperson of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, of having arranged for private security and the couple having no plans to ask the U.S. government for their security resources. The Spokeswoman said, “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have no plans to ask the U.S. government for security resources. Privately funded security arrangements have been made,” as reported in Reuters. This also confirmed of the former Royal couple shifting their base to LA to some extent.
Donald Trump’s tweet denying of the nation paying for their security, read, “I am a great friend and admirer of the Queen & the United Kingdom. It was reported that Harry and Meghan, who left the Kingdom, would reside permanently in Canada. Now they have left Canada for the U.S. however, the U.S. will not pay for their security protection. They must pay!”
