Stand-up comedian Prashasti Singh had earlier shared a post saying that her mother tested positive for COVID-19 and had to admit her to the hospital after her oxygen levels dropped. She shared a gut-wrenching post mentioning the struggle to find a bed for her mother. Well, Prashasti once again took to her Instagram stories and informed her that she and her mother who had tested positive are now back home but the hunt for medical resources continues. Amid the rising number of COVID-19 cases, there has been a strain on medical resources. Singh mentioned how she is getting calls from everyone who is in desperate need of medical resources.
Her hard-hitting note read, “Hi guys my mother and I are back home! We are very thankful and very relieved. But the bad news is flowing in from all directions. There are continuous phone calls from family, friends, neighbours and acquaintances desperately looking for sources. We have now become numb to old people dying. We shed a few tears when the young die and then try to not think about it too much.” Singh also asserted that once she has some bandwidth, Prashasti would come forward to help. “Sorry I have not had the time to go through my DMs but as soon as I have some bandwidth I will try to do whatever I can to help. Right now every lead I get is getting exhausted offline only,” her note further read.
In another post, the comedienne asks, “Has anyone bought an oxygen concentrator in Lucknow recently? Please help with leads. An old couple in my neighbourhood needs to set it up urgently at home.”
Talking about her previous post, Prashasti described her struggle to find a bed for her mother, and later, running around in search of an oxygen cylinder. In her post, Prashasti described the country’s collapsing health infrastructure.
