In a shocking course of events, a Tiktoker and social media influencer Shivani, who was working as a beautician, is found dead inside a bed box at her salon in Haryana's Sonipat district. As per a report in Times Of India, the victim's neck showed strangulation marks. The mortal remains of a 20 years old Shivani were found by her business partner Neeraj on Sunday. As per reports, Shivani, along with her sister and business partner, ran a beauty salon at TDI City in Kundli, Sonipat. According to TOI, the police officials have arrested a suspect in this case on Monday.
The accused, which has been identified as Aarif Mohammad, is a local and was reportedly stalking Shivani. She, however, rejected his proposal. The Kundli Police has charged Aarif for the destruction of evidence and SC/ST (Prevention of atrocities) Act. The victim was a popular face on the video-sharing application of TikTok with around 1 lakh followers. As per DSP Virender Singh, "The accused Aarif has confessed to the murder. He not only murdered the woman but also was in conversation with her family throughout the night of the murder."
He added, "Aarif will be presented in the court after undergoing a COVID-19 test. The accused strangulated the woman using a dupatta and stuffed her body in the bed used by Neeraj. The murder came to light after Neeraj spotted foul smell emanating from the salon. He then found Shivani's body from the box."
As per police, Shivani was killed on Friday evening. Her family allegedly gave statements about the repeated harassment by Aarif. According to Shivani's father, Arif had been stalking her since last three years. The family had even shifted their home but he found her and followed her around. “We had moved the police that took action and he had even apologised. But he never left my daughter and took revenge,” said the deceased's father.
