World is full of bizarre and absurd news pieces and Twitterati always have the best reaction to anything and everything. Recently, the Authority of Advance Rulings (Karnataka bench) distinguished between ready-to-eat roti and parotta and placed the latter in the luxury bracket. This by imposing 18 percent GST on Parottas and only 5 percent GST on rotis. Reason behind this is that Parottas need rewarming and heating before being served. Twitter is losing its mind over this with netizens having a hilarious reaction to it.

Twitterverse is trending #HandsOffParotta and sharing funny memes laughing hard on the discrimination between two types of breads. A user wrote, "Wowww... So Chappatti and Rotis only 5% GST (essential item) while Kerala Porottas will carry 18% GST (luxury item). What's next? Appam and Pazhampori having 28% GST? #HandsOffPorotta." Another one pulled a Koi Mil Gaya meme and wrote, "Parotas become luxury item with 18% GST #Saahibhog Parotas be like - Heh, Mein Bacho se baat nahi karta." Another Twitter user wrote, "Don't tell Porotta it's not Roti. It never wanted to be Roti in the first place. #HandsOffPorotta."

Another one demanded that this discrimination should be stopped immediately. "5% GST for Rotis and 18% GST for Porotta?! This discrimination should end right now. Say No to Food Fascism! You dont get to decide what we should eat! #HandsOffPorotta," read the tweet.

A few even started racking their brains over how much GST will be charged on special parattos like Aloo or Methi. Check out a few tweets below, we are sure you'll have a good laugh.
