TV actor Vivian Dsena, whom we last saw in the show Shakti- Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki, has been missing in action for a long time. The actor, who has a great fan-following, likes to keep a low profile. In a recent interaction with SpotboyE.com, Vivian shared the reason behind it.

Excerpts from the conversation

Post your last show Shakti-Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki, you have chosen to keep a low profile. Any particular reason?
I have always been like this as I like to be in my own space. I have always taken a long enough break between projects because it takes a lot of unlearning after you've played a character for a long time.

We hardly see you partying or in social gatherings. As an actor you feel it's important to be a part of such networks to get work?
Nobody has become successful by partying or socialising and if that's the case, I know a lot of people who are extremely social and party animals but they have neither got any work from partying and socialising nor are successful. The only place they are visible is the event photograph that comes the next day in the newspaper. Success has no connection with socialising.

Reality shows help you to get instant fame. Do you agree with that?
The faster you succeed, the faster you disappear is what I believe in. Fame which comes to you gradually lasts longer. I myself have done two popular reality shows like Khatron Ke Khiladi and Jhalak Dikhlaja but my reason to do that was entertaining my audience. Also, I like to challenge myself and the dance reality show was a challenge for me. I am not a trained dancer, in fact, I never had any interest in dancing. I owe Bhawna Khanduja- my choreographer big time for it. She had a tough time making me dance and was sweet enough to not mention it.

You have a recluse image in the industry. What makes people assume that?
I love being like this. There was a time when I was requested to be social and I did give a try but it didn’t suit me. I felt like I am losing myself in the bargain and realised I cannot lose myself for people or for society norms. Everybody has a nature and I am not changing mine for anybody anymore.

What makes Vivian happy then?
Being in my own space and spending time with my friends, who are also my family. Like they say- I got no friends, I got family- it’s quite literal for me.

Maximum TV actors these days are aiming to make their next move to Bollywood. Is Vivian also planning the same?
Honestly, I am very much content with TV and have no such aspirations to go to Bollywood. If an interesting character comes my way, I will give it a thought. I have never differentiated between TV and Bollywood. I feel an actor is an actor- whatever the medium is.
