TV show Tenali Rama after a successful run of three years is finally bidding adieu to the viewers. The show will telecast its last episode on November 13. However, the actors have already shot for their last day on the sets. Talking to SpotboyE.com exclusively Krishna Bharadwaj who essays the titular role of Tenali Rama spoke about his journey on the show and what his plans are post that. Read on;

How shaken were you to learn that Tenali Rama is going off-air?
I wasn’t shaken off at all when I learnt that Tenali Rama was going off-air because we were on the same TRP for the last two years. By God’s grace, we had a dedicated audience who wasn’t leaving the show and even though we had a little TRP, popularity-wise we had a stronghold.

What went wrong with the show that it had to go off air?
Everything comes to an end after a certain point of time & I don’t think anything went against it causing it to go off air. After the lockdown, the economic scenario and working patterns had changed for all. Being an expensive show having three huge sets, maintenance of the same was difficult for both the channel and production house despite endless efforts of keeping it on. It was the need of the situation and that’s all I feel.

You were living this character for so many years now. How difficult it would be for you to come out of it?
Well, I played this character for precisely three and a half years and exactly 805 episodes. I always say that I am not a good actor, I only know how to live a character and that’s what I did. I never acted in Tenali Rama, I rather lived in Tenali Rama wherein I gave my 100% to every mood of it as Krishna Bharadwaj. It’s not difficult to come out of it for I know how to switch on and off in my profession as an actor. Yes, I do feel a void in my brain and heart for I used to be occupied with this character a lot. This void shall stay forever cause everything I am today is because of “Tenali Rama”.

What are the things you are missing the most?
I miss travelling to the sets whilst watching the picturesque views, getting into the details of the character and majorly me remembering the lines for a scene. The improvisation while delivering the performance and occupied brain in working really hard is something that adds up to the list. Working with my team and crew who had become my extended family in these three years is another thing I miss about it. More than a character, Tenali was a thought which I shall miss always.

You can finally have a hairstyle though. Does that part make you feel happy?
I am super happy to be able to grow my hair back long enough to start the shoots of my sequel Gujarati film. I keep checking the growth each day and have been trying methods to have them grow in a rapid space. I am excited to see myself with full-grown hair on my head for I have enough time for it now.
