Sunil Grover is all set to return to the small screen with Simone's sisters new show- Gangs Of Filmistan on Star Bharat. But it's not just entertainment what's on Sunil's mind, the actor also wants to help out the needy through his forthcoming project. Sunil has decided to donate his income out of the show to the needy people.
In an exclusive conversation with SpotboyE.com, Sunil not just shared this thoughts on this special act but also told us what is he going to do with his gang- Shilpa Shinde, Upasna Singh, Sanket Bhosle, Sughanda Mishra, Paritosh Tripathi and Sidharth Sagar, in the show. Excerpts from the conversation below:
What attracted you the most in Gangs Of Filmistan?
I found the concept exciting but the main reason to do this show is the current situation. I really feel humour is much needed at this point of time. If I can make people laugh, I will feel extremely overwhelmed. There is so much stress in everyone's life, so this can be their daily dose of stress-buster.
And what will we see Sunil doing this time?
This time you will not see me on stage as an active performer but I will be sitting on the other side in character of Don and will be enjoying the performances. As the show title suggests Gang Of Filmistan, so all the gags will be related to films and I am excited to see that.
Will this Don scare the audience?
Is Don ko dekhkar logo ko dar nahi lagega balki hasi aayegi.
When was the show planned?
This year I had no plans of doing television as my dates were blocked for one of my movies and then series on OTT. Also, a few live shows were lined up. But due to the lockdown, a lot of changes happened in the plan and I got time to do something again here. And I am happy about it. In fact, I have decided whatever money I will make out of this show, I will donate it to the needy people.
That is an amazing thought but we are sure even you would have suffered some financial loss in this pandemic like many others...
Everyone has faced financial losses. I am grateful to good that we are blessed with everything and could mange things easily. But the daily wage workers, who earn their livelihood on a day to day basis, struggled the most in this pandemic. Now, when work is getting resumed gradually, I am happy that many are getting there employment back.
Many actors have also cut down their fees. Have you also done that?
As I already told you I am donating all my money from this show to the people in need. So mera to sara hi cut down hai (laughs). But on a serious note, Star Bharat has been very kind to me and they are paying me well for the project.
