Rupali Ganguly: My Child Wakes Up In The Night Scared; Am Constantly Looking Over My Shoulder

Rupali Ganguly has not yet recovered from the road rage incident of August 4 and we think that's going to take quite some time, particularly because her child has still not overcome the trauma. In an EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW, Rupali updates us the two nuisances in Versova and her plight.

On August 4, Rupali Ganguly was at the receiving end of a traumatic road rage experience, with two bikers who damaged her car near Bharat Signal at Versova (near Banana Leaf) and paid no heed to her child wailing in fear inside.

We have now followed up with Rupali to get the current status of her police complaint which she had filed pronto, and this is what she had to say:

So, where are those two hoodlums?
I think they were released on bail.

When did this happen?
On August 4. The police did their job but the law let them go. i have been in touch with the cops. I don't want those two bikers hanging around my place in Versova, both are from Versova Koliwada. so it's a bit dicey.

Are you taking them to court?
The police has been in touch with me, asking if I have seen anything suspicious in vicinity. I really don't know whether I should escalate this thing and get the bikers punished. It's just that I don't want them to do this to anyone again.

One of them works as a driver, my friend stays in the same building where he's employed. I got feelers that his employers are ready to pay for my car damages but that's not what i want. Imagine the scenario if my husband had been driving the car. Would they have attacked the opposite window? They would have tried to bash him up.

My child is waking up in the night, scared. He had stooped sitting in the car. It took me days to get him back in the car again.

More than punishing then, I want them to realise that they can't be doing this to anybody again. I have stopped taking calls. I am constantly looking over my shoulder especially if my child is out with me. Is there anyway to find out if the bikers really repent about what they did to me?

What's your husband saying?
My husband is supportive, he is not interfering, he says that I should do what I think is right.

And what is right according to you?
As I said, I really don't know at this point of time. Mujhe kisike pet pe laat nahin marni, koi kamaal ki dushmani nahin nikalni. My child has suffered, how do i reduce his fear? It's more of a psychological issue than anything else. As a mother, you are a monkey.... doing 20 things at a time, my mother-in-law is 85-years old and unwell. Aur uske beech mein, this has happened! The entire well-being is shaken up.

Are you taking any precautions in particular?
Not when I am alone, but yes I am looking in the rear-view mirror almost all the time. And I am not getting down from the car leaving my child with the maid, to buy anything for the house howsoever important it might be.

Go on...
I did at that point of time what I thought was right. I wanted to teach the two bikers a lesson--- and I did.

Are you getting too many calls from people?
Yeah, but most of them just want to know 'Kya hua tha uas din?'. That's so irritating.

I am a very low profile person. I have started keeping my mobile aside for longer periods. I have talked to you now only because I know you well since a long time.
