Naagin 4 actor Vijayendra Kumeria's last appearance in the popular daily show Naagin 4 added unparalleled success to his body of work. His choice of shows clearly tells us that he believes in quality over quantity. And perhaps that is why he is taking it slow after Naagin 4.
In a tell-all interview, Vijayendra spills the beans on his work life, fashion choices and how his personal life looks from the inside. Excerpts from the conversation:
You have been away from the screen for some time. Why is that?
I have been waiting for something exciting. As soon as I get a good character in a good show on any medium, I will definitely grab the offer.
Your role in Naagin 4 was highly appreciated. Are you waiting for a role of that calibre?
Of Course! After doing shows like Udaan and Naagin where my characters have been appreciated, I am cautious while choosing my next work.
You have got a new photoshoot done recently. What is your idea of fashion?
I just wanted to experiment with my looks and also post some nice professional pictures on my social media.
Do you feel that an actor has to always be presentable even during personal time?
Well, I don’t care much and don’t put in a lot of effort as I am quite sure that even when I am dressed in my comfortable clothes I am quite presentable. I don't take pressure about it.
Who do you idolise in television and film industry when it comes to personality and fashion?
I like Akshay Kumar because he is very effortless with his styling and still looks dashing. On television, I am not too sure if I Idolise anyone.
Do you feel television is beginning to exhaust its stories?
There are a lot of writers who have great ideas. I think for new stories, new writers should be given a chance to bring some freshness in television.
What are your thoughts on web series?
I love watching them. That's the future of entertainment and I would love to be a part of good web series.
How would you define your journey so far?
So far, so good. I have good work coming my way and I hope I keep getting nice opportunities in future too. I don’t have any complaints. I am still halfway through my goal.
What are the trends you have noticed in the television industry?
Well, in television I have noticed that if a thought or track doesn’t work for a week and doesn’t garnish TRPs then the makers tend to go back to the same formulas that have worked in the past. So, maybe that's the reason that after some time a lot of stories seem to be running on the same line.
