Tell us about 'Fakebook With Kavita'...
It is a satire about our society, the lives that we lead, and how fake we are most of the time -- be it our professional or personal relationships.
Does it try to educate people about our 'Fake' society?
We are not trying to educate anybody, the show is not at all preachy. But having said that, when people watch Fakebook, they will be able to relate to it. It may also make people introspect.
How did you prepare for the show?
I didn't really have to prepare, because it's a very real show. Also, FIR gave me all the training I needed. I have played different characters with different accents in it, so I can effortlessly essay any role now.
What is more difficult, hosting or acting?
Nothing is difficult. But yes, it's a challenge not to repeat myself because people have seen me in different avatars in FIR.
Is your show inspired by American comedy series Inside Amy Schumer?
Yes, but sadly, we live in a country where women going bold with their sexuality is not received well. So, we had to tone down our content.
If allowed to do so, which issue would you like to expose first?
If given the liberty, I would love to expose human equations, which are extremely fake these days.
This interview will be incomplete without us asking you about the Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa incident...
(Kavita was furious when the Comedy Nights Bachao team started roasting her - without her approval - at the dance show's finale. When the actress tried to retaliate, they turned her mic off, and she stormed out of the sets.)
I believe someone has to stand up and say 'No'. Certain things are unacceptable to me and I have the courage to say so. I was not informed about the roast and when I tried to retaliate, they cut my mic off. So, I just got up and left like any dignified woman would do.
Did you turn down Khatron Ke Khiladi because of the Jhalak incident?
I have realised that I am not a reality superstar. There are people who do it and enjoy it, but I don't. More importantly, I don't need to do them.
