With lockdown being relaxed in many parts of the country, the entertainment industry have also been allowed to resume shoots. We got in touch with Chhoti Sarrdaarni actress, Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia about when she will begin shooting and what all will be different on sets in the new normal.
Have you guys been informed about when you can resume shooting?
They haven't given us any specific date as right now all the needed arrangements are underway on the sets. Many precautions have to be introduced and clearance has to be taken. But yes as per the plan, we may start shooting by the end of this month.
Are you scared of shooting amidst the pandemic?
I have mixed emotions as every day is going to feel like a battle as there is always a sense of realisation that at the end of the day, this virus is here to stay and there is no vaccination until now. But as we all know that life cannot stop but it's also a fact now that life will not be normal. So, a constant stress will always be on the mind, not only about our health but others also.
Especially for actors as we can't wear the mask, gloves or shields constantly. It's scary but by the end of the day, we have to work and so I am just trying to embrace it with a positive note. We are artistes and with our performances we can uplift others' moods who are suffering.
As per the guidelines, kids are not allowed to shoot as of now. So how much are you going to miss Kavina (Param)?
More than missing her, I am just glad that she is going to be safe. In the show, she is playing my son but off-screen she is like a kid sister to me. I still do hope that at a later stage, she too is allowed to shoot and we will definitely take extra care for her safety.
Will you allow a makeup artist to do your makeup?
All the actors will try to do their own makeup though there will be a makeup artist on the sets to guide. Even if it wouldn't be included in the guidelines we would have preferred to do our own makeup. Still their availability is must because any assistance we need or any products which we don't have, they can help us. It's not like we all know very well to do our own makeup so we will also be figuring it all out. Girls will still manage but I guess it will be challenging for the boys. But can't complain as we all are evolving as per the circumstances.
You think it will be difficult for the audience to reconnect as there has been a huge gap?
I am very confident of what we have done so far and the fan base we have. We can't deny the fact that because we all didn't have fresh episodes, a lot of people diverted to OTT in this lockdown period. But I still feel it is much easier to switch on the TV and flip through the screen then thinking aaj naya kya dekhe? Watching TV is a habit and it can't get changed so easily. Above that in this lockdown, we have been constantly receiving queries when new episodes will begin and not just in India but also from abroad. So, I am sure they will come to watch us!!
