Aashika Bhatia, who is not just an actress but also a social media star, recently participated in a MX Taka Tak Fame House show in Goa. Along with other popular Internet stars, Aashka travelled to Goa to generate content and while sharing her experience, the actress went on revealing a lot of interesting scoop.
How was your whole experience in Goa?
It was really fun and amazing. I enjoyed it a lot. I actually love this kind of trip where we get to meet new people and make new friends. I got to meet so many people out there who were very creative. I really loved their work and it was a good experience because it was not only me who was making content, there were many other people out there. So, I learned a few things from them and surely they must have also done the same.
One thing you learned from other content creators?
Dedication, I would say as I have been very lazy these days. I end up making 2-3 videos whereas they make 10 videos. And I really need to learn that dedication from them. If I have to name somebody, then it would say 'rush twins sisters'- they were too much into videos. So, they have created a lot of content as they are very enthusiastic and active.
Do you feel the pressure sometimes to generate content as your fans keep looking for it?
It's not a pressure, it's actually a kind of easy thing for me. Because I make videos which my fans ask for. If they want me to do a dance video, I do that, if they want me to do lip sync on some popular song, I do that. I generate content as per their demands. So that keeps them happy.
You are also an actor but we didn't see you doing some projects after Hum Tum & Them, has this content making process kept you busy?
No it's not like that. But it's me who has decided to not take up any projects for a while. While I was shooting my web series Hum Tum And Them, I injured my legs as I met with an accident while jumping. So, it's been like one and half years that I haven't taken up any projects in acting.
Are you planning to get back to acting?
Yes, I want to but I have been looking for a good role.
Did you intentionally start this journey of becoming a social media star to gain popularity?
Things don't turn the exact way we plan as many times unexpected things get you what you want. Similar case happened to me. There was one video of mine where I just gave an expression and that video went viral. There were millions of views on it and comments where people were praising my eyes by saying this is something unique. I played with my eyes and it worked for me.
Did that motivate you to create more videos?
I was creating these videos from 3-4 years ago but it's still a part time thing for me and my fans love me for that. So, I would say not that video but the people who love watching my videos motivate me a lot.
Social media stars also have to deal with trollers. How do you manage that?
There are people who spread hate by body shaming or at times by their racist comments. They bully you and by now I also don't understand what they get out of it. But I really don't care about that thing. Mujhe pyaar karne wale zayada hai, so I keep my focus on them.
