The results of the TV show
ratings in week 39 (between September 24 and September 30) are here and let us
tell you that Sony wouldn’t be able to wipe the smile off their faces. For, The
Kapil Sharma Show leads the pack and is at number 1. It’s a huge jump for the
comedy show as in week 38 (September 17-
September 23), it was at the 4th position.
Looks like cricketer Yuvraj Singh and fiancée Hazel Keech’s visit to the show on September 24 (Saturday) worked wonders for it. In fact, if the latest ratings are anything to go by, the episode featuring the couple recorded a higher viewership as compared to the September 25 (Sunday) episode which saw the cast of Tutak Tutak Tutiya – Prabhu Dheva, Sonu Sood and Tamannaah Bhatia – make an appearance.

Zee TV’s Brahmarakshas - Jaag Utha Shaitaan, which was at the top spot in week 38 held the 2nd position in week 39. We wonder if Brahmarakshas’s (essayed by Parag Tyagi) death the main cause for the dip in ratings.

Further, Colors show Shakti- Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki was an unexpected poor performer and dropped two positions; it stood at no 4 in week 39. Are viewers bored by the overstretched track of Preeto (Kamya Punjabi) and Maninder (Ayub Khan) trying to keeps their kids – Harman (Vivian Dsena) and Soumya (Rubina Dilaik) – apart?

Zee TV’s Kumkum Bhagya and Star Plus show Saath Nibhaana Saathiya did not move up or down and were stable at the 3rd and the 5th position respectively.

Another comedy show that climbed the ladder was Sony SAB’s Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. The show went up a notch and was at number 7 in week 39. For those who don’t remember, Taarak Mehta... had secured the 8th position in week 38. The improved performance of the comedy shows cements the notion, tickle the audience’s funny bone and you have their heart.
