Week 19 (May 5-11) did not see several changes on the
leader board. To begin with, Ekta Kapoor’s Kundali Bhagya continued to be the
most-watched show. Talk about a loyal fan following!
Kumkum Bhagya stayed put at No. 2 this week. From the
looks of it, the family drama has got its groove back, yet again. For, a few
weeks ago, it began dropping in terms of its position.
A Still From Shakti Astitva Ke Ehsaas
Another set of shows which retained their positions were
Shakti-Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki and Kullfi Kumarr Bajewala.

Zee TV’s Ishq Subhan Allah registered a minor dip in its
ratings and was at the 4th spot this time around. The show tells the story
of Kabeer (Adnan Khan) and Zara (Eisha Singh), both devout followers of Islam,
who happen to interpret the Quran very differently. While Kabeer is a ‘maulvi’
(priest) who abides by the widely followed, traditional moral ethical code of
conduct, Zara is a well-educated young woman who applies the teachings of Allah
to a logical, liberal way of life based on modern fundamentals of practicality,
rationality, gender equality, justice and fairness.

Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah too dropped slightly and
was at No. 9. Last week, it stood at the 8th position. The comedy drama,
which was once a family staple, and more often than not, was one of Top 5, has
been at the bottom of the barrel for a few weeks now. Will the makers be able
to lure its audience back? Time will tell.
A Still From Ishqbaaz
Finally, let’s talk about the new entry this week –
Ishqbaaz. The show stars Nakuul Mehta, Kunal
Jaisingh and Leenesh Mattoo in lead roles and has landed a spot in
Top 10 after many a moon.
