HIT OR FLOP: Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2, Kumkum Bhagya, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, Shakti-Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki?

And Ekta Kapoor has done it! The TV Czarina has managed to pull her ambitious project, Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2, starring Parth Samthaan and Erica Fernandes to the Top 10 (No.7). For the past few weeks, the show has been knocking the doors of the coveted list and in Week 51 (December 15-21), it has managed the feat. We bet, the team must be celebrating today.

However, as is always the case, you win some, you lose some. Ekta’s Kumkum Bhagya dropped marginally in the week in question (from 4 to 5). Seems like, the producer, along with the creative team has to hatch plans to lure fans back to the show.

This week’s biggest surprise came in the form of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. The comedy show shot up from 7 to 3! That’s a huge achievement. From the looks of it, Taarak is gradually getting back on track and Dr Hathi is getting acceptance.

Rubina Dilaik and Vivian Dsena-starrer Shakti-Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki was missing from the Top 10 for several weeks now. However, the show has shot back! The family drama acquired the 10th spot. While it may not be the time to relax for the makers as the world of TV is a fickle one, but at least things seem to be falling for the show.


Still From Kanpur Wale Khuranas

Naagin 3 continued to be the most-watched show on Indian television, followed by Kundali Bhagya. Kullfi Kumarr Bajewala slipped and was at No.4. Finally, Kanpur Wale Khuranas (Star Plus), headlined by Sunil Grover, has started on a high note. In the first week itself, it has registered a TRP of 1.9, which is no mean feat. It will be interesting to see if it makes its way to the Top 10.
