HIT OR FLOP: Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2, Khatron Ke Khiladi 9, Kumkum Bhagya, Kullfi Kumarr Bajewala

MAJOR SHOCKS lie in store when you read this. Boats of many shows turned UPSIDE Down- and some boats developed WINGS in Week 9, 2019

Week 9 of 2019 has definitely made a very happening Thursday for some production houses and channels, ever since the Top 10 list came to light. Ekta Kapoor has danced away to glory. Balaji Telefilms' ambitious venture Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2 on Star Plus has perhaps for the first time made it to the coveted Top 10 list. The twist in Prerna’s character who was otherwise a calm girl and is now on a mission to destroy Anurag-Komolika’s married life has apparently brought eyeballs that Ekta waited for the longest time. KZK 2 which had once gently knocked this list on 11, is now on 9.

Another significant thing this week is the exit of SAB TV's Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. Dayaben, new or old- when are you coming? Star Plus' Kumkum Bhagya which was on 7 last week is also out, a concern for Ekta and so is the drop in Naagin Season 3 on Colors from 2 to 3--- but I think the happiness of KZK 2 must be compensating enough. Zee TV's Tujhse Hai Raabta which was barely holding on at 10 last Thursday has also fallen off the cliff; this show has been in and out of Top 10 but never makes it sufficiently high- guess, it has a somewhat restricted but loyal audience.

Producer Rajan Shahi also has work to do; his Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai on Star Plus has slipped from 6 to 8. This Shivangi Joshi show was on 6, 5 and 6 in three weeks prior to this--- but nobody would like to be on 8 definitely. In contrast, the reverse has happened to Star Plus' Kullfi Kumarr Bajewala (track updated in our story published today); it has swung upwards from 8 to 6.

The new show Divya Drishti on Star Plus has made a tearing entry, it is sitting a bit pretty at 7. A case of curiosity to test out new content, but it might sustain. Meanwhile, Naagin 3's loss is Super Dancer 3's gain. This dance show on Sony, judged by Shilpa Shetty, Anurag Basu and Geeta Kapoor, where children are endangering themselves, still finds nobody within the show disturbed enough to raise a voice against the dangerous acts performed by kids.

I will be back next Thursday around the same time.
