HIT OR FLOP: Ishqbaaaz, Ishq Subhan Allah, Bigg Boss 12, Indian Idol?

Shocks lay in store in Week 48 (November 24-30) on Indian television. Disappointment and concern for production houses and channels in question- maybe not party time for X'mas and New Year for them!

First things first. Nobody likes downward displacement. Ekta Kapoor has another cause of worry. Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2 (Star Plus) is still struggling to make it regularly in the Top 10, though it did show up at the bottom of this prestigious list in Week 46. Abki baar bhi nahin hai yaar. We bet nobody expected this much-talked about show to be a slow-starter.

And what's with the viewers who made a big sosha about Surbhi Chandna's exit (or should we say ouster, 'coz the show's producer Gul Khan took that call) from Ishqbaaaz (Star Plus)? Were they those who belong to the Trolls category? The show continues to run on heavy legs. Week 48 (November 24-30) saw this Star Plus show on just 19. Neither did viewers bid a nice goodbye to Jennifer Winget in Bepannah (Sony); Miss Winget who is the talk-of-the-town for her beauty and dressing sense is not dinner talk on dining tables?!

However, Amitabh Bachchan enjoyed Appointment Viewing when it came to his last appearance in Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 10.

Salman Khan hosted Bigg Boss 12 (Colors) failed to entice eyeballs. When did we last see it in the clapper board? Nothing from Anup Jalota's 'affair' with Jasleen Matharu to Matharu jumping into the pool to Sreesanth talking about the allegations of match-fixing against him has worked. Nobody is even interested this year on who will win the show! Harsh, but true.

On the other hand, Indian Idol (Sony) has taken a big jump. From 8 (Week 45) to 5 (Week 46), it is now on 4. The rooms in the Star Bharat office also have nothing to cheer, RadhaKrishn has dropped from 5 to 9. Guddan Tumse Na Ho Payega has gone down to 10 from 6. We hope it breathes free and Zee TV doesn't have to call its producer Ved Raj, saying 'Tum Se Na Ho Payega'.

Two big shows have lost considerable audience, especially after Week 45. Dance Plus 4 (Star Plus) which had shown a glimmer of hope by surfacing on 10 in Week 45 is still not a force to reckon with. Another one from the Zee TV stable, Ishq Subhan Allah, which was at 6 then, has fared poorly Week 46 onward.

Naagin 3 (Colors) remains unbeaten and was the most-watched show. Kundali Bhagya and Kumkum Bhagya (both on Zee TV) are going strong at 2 and 3 respectively since nearly 5 weeks. It’s time that Ekta Kapoor invests her energies into Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2. After all, the name is still held in high regard.
