Week 38 (September 15-21) changed the scheme of things on
the leader board. To begin with, Salman Khan-hosted Bigg Boss 12, which
premiered on September 16, found a spot in the Top 10. However, it landed on
the 6th spot, which, if you ask us, is a disappointing start. With the
hype generated around the reality show, we were expecting it to fare much
better. Having said that, it’s still early days and the show seems to be
picking up in terms of quarrels inside the house. We wouldn’t be surprised if
Bigg Boss 12 registers higher impressions in the weeks to come.
Furthermore, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah registered
minor improvement in the week in question. It went from No 6 to 5. This was a
crucial week for the makers as Nirmal Soni finally made an appearance as Dr
Hathi. You may recall, we were the first to tell you that the actor has
been finalised for the show and will essay the role of Dr Hathi. We even
brought to you pictures from the set when the team shot for the comeback
sequence. Evidently, fans weren’t excited and the comedy show didn’t grab
eyeballs.
Tarak Mehta Ka Ulta Chashma
Dance Deewane
deservingly acquired the 2nd position. The show’s grand finale
aired on September 15, andAalok Shaw lifted the trophy. The 7-year-old
beat contestants in categories 1 and 2. Goes without saying, Shashank Khaitan,
Madhuri Dixit and Tushar Kalia’s show struck gold with the audience.
Alok And Madhuri In Dance Deewane
The most glaring
omission in Week 38 was Amitabh Bachchan’s Kaun Banega Crorepati. For some
reason, the show didn’t find favour with the small screen audience. This is the
first time that the current season (Season 10) -- Sony’s flagship show –
has dipped. Let’s wait and watch to see what next week brings for the game
show.
Finally, Nagin 3
continued its winning streak and was the most-watched show on Indian
television. Kundali Bhagya was at a cool No. 3. Yeh Rishta Kehlata Hai stood at
No. 4.
