We are back with
your weekly dope on the ongoing TV shows. Week 10 (March 3-9) had a number of
surprises in store for the viewers. To begin with, Divyanka Tripathi-Karan
Patel starrer Yeh Hai Mohabbatein did not feature in the Top 10. It’s
probably the first time in several months that the sitcom failed to make it to
the coveted list.
The ongoing track
whereby Ishita (Divyanka) and Raman (Karan) are not staying together has
probably disappointed viewers, leading to the decline in ratings. We bet,
producer Ekta Kapoor has already got her thinking cap on to lure the viewers
back into the show.

Up next, The
Kapil Sharma Show, which registered a significant drop in its ratings in Week 9
(February 24-March 2) and acquired the 6th position stayed put at that spot in Week 10. This came as a surprise
considering Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan appeared on March 4 (Saturday) to promote Badrinath Ki Dulhania and we
were expecting the show to perform well. However, it’s clear that the couple
failed to weave magic.

Furthermore,
Vivian Dsena and Rubina Dilaik-starrer Shakti- Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki climbed the
ladder and clinched the 4th spot.
This is an appreciable improvement as the popular drama had slipped to the 7th spot in Week 9 sending the makers into a
tizzy.

No prizes for
guessing that the top slot was held by Mouni Roy-starrer, Naagin 2. Talk about
a loyal fan following.

Moving on, Zee
TV’s Kumkum Bhagya and Star Plus show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai swapped
positions in the said week and were at No 2 and 3 respectively. It must
be noticed that Kumkum Bhagya has shown a gradual improvement in its ratings.
Week 8 - No 4
Week 9 - No 3
Week 10 – No 2

Making a roaring
entry into the Top 10 is Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. The comedy show has
made it to the list after a long time. We wonder if the upswing in its ratings
has anything to do with the death of the veteran playwright Taarak Mehta, the
inspiration behind the show.

Joining Taarak... is Ek Shringaar – Swabhimaan. The series produced under the banner of Rajshri Productions revolves around a mother fighting all odds to raise her daughters to be self-sufficient and independent. Undoubtedly, the premise has resonated with audiences.
