The popular Star Plus show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai has been doing quite well on the TRP charts. We even bring you spoiler alerts from the show, as and when we can. But this one is a shocker. Actress Pankhuri Awasthy who is seen as Vedika on the show is headed for an exit.

A source from the sets has given us this inside scoop exclusively. The reason for the actress bidding adieu to the show is her film commitment. Well, Pankhuri has signed a film and that’s left her with no time to shoot for the show. Due to no dates and a chock-a-bloc schedule, the actress has decided to mark an exit. In fact, if you’ve noticed of late, she is hardly to be seen on Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.

However, when we reached out to the actress, she said, "No, I am not leaving the show anytime soon. Yes, I have signed a film. In fact, I have started shooting for it. But I am managing it simultaneously. So for now, I am not going anywhere".

Currently, the serial’s track is focusing on Kartik (Mohsin Khan) and Naira’s (Shivangi Joshi) son Kairav who has started hating his father for mistreating his mother. On the other hand, Kartik's second wife Vedika (Pankhuri Awasthy) is shown scared of her ex-husband. While the face of the actor who essays her ex-pati has been kept a secret till now, we shall know it very soon.

Speaking of her Bollywood project, Pankhuri will be seen in the film Shubh Mangal Zyada Savdhaan, a spin-off to the 2017 film Shubh Mangal Saavdhan.

Coming back to the show, recently there were reports of Karan Mehra aka Naitik making a comeback on the show, but when we contacted the actor, he denied it.
