A new actress will enter in Kartik's (Mohsin Khan) life who will be parallel lead in the show. And that character will be played by actress Pankhuri Awasthy who is doing her comeback on TV after a 2-years-gap. The actress, who got married to actor Gautam Rode last year, confirmed the news to Bombay Times, saying, “It is good to be back on television, and that too, on a show that has been running for a decade now. I am playing a sweet, soft-spoken girl, who enters Kartik’s family. It will be followed by a lot of twists and turns.”
Pankhuri also revealed that she discussed about her comeback and joining Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai with Gautam and he said that he has worked with the same production house, and felt that this show would work out for the actress. “He is a very decisive person and I always depend on him for advice,” said Pankhuri.
Pankhuri was last seen in Kya Qusoor Hai Amala Ka? which was an adaptation of Turkish drama series, Fatmagul.
