Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is one of the longest running shows on Indian television. For the past 15 years, the show has entertained the audience with its quirky storylines, relatable characters and slice-of-life drama. However, the show has been making headlines over the last few months for all the wrong reasons. Actress Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal, who essayed the role of Mrs. Roshan Singh Sodhi, alleged producer Asit Kumarr Modi and two others of sexual harassment. 

Her accusations left the internet divided. While some sympathised with her, some urged the makers to shut down the show before more ill is spoken against them and others pointed out that this might be a publicity stunt for Jennifer to get more attention. Amid all the chatter, rumours started floating around that she made such allegations so that she could participate in Salman Khan’s reality show Bigg Boss. Well, now in a recent interaction, she has addressed the rumours. Having been in the industry for almost two decades now, the 44-year-old actress denied the rumours. In an interview with Telly Chakkar, she shared that she is not at all interested in doing reality shows. She pointed out that in her entire career, no one has ever heard anything controversial about her, apart from the time she was fired from TMKOC for being pregnant. She added, “This is not really my cup of tea. If they approach me, I will think that time. I don’t plan my future, never in my life, for 15 years anyway, we couldn’t even plan holidays or anything like that. But I have not planned anything, I am a very homely person, and none of this is for publicity, and I cannot even imagine going there. Bigg Boss I think is for 3 months right, and even if I go then I will come back in a week because I will miss my family so much, so nothing is planned.”

For the unversed, ever since Jennifer has made her accusations, her former co-stars, actresses Priya Ahuja Rajda and Monika Bhadoriya as well as the former director Malav Rajda have spoken in support of her. The actresses have opened up about the injustice they and other female actors had to face at the hands of Modi and his team.
