Since March 19, 2020, all the shooting on film projects, and TV shows was stalled in the wake of the pandemic. After seeking necessary permission from the government, TV industry had just about started to shoot again. Amidst that, CINTAA and FWICE have issued a press release regarding safety of the cast and crew shooting on the sets and the non-payment of their outstanding dues. CINTAA and FWICE have taken the immediate action of issuing a press release after calling off shooting as IFTPC failed to meet insurance demands.

As several shows like Kumkum Bhagya, Kundali Bhagya, Guddan Tumse Na Ho Payega and Sa Re Ga Ma L'il Champs were to commence shooting from today onwards, before the camera started to roll, the shoots have been called off by the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) and Cine And TV Artistes' Association (CINTAA) as the Indian Film & TV Producers' Council (IFTPC) did not meet the demands of working in 8-hour shifts and providing of insurance cover of Rs 50 Lakh for workers.

According to the press release, it has been issued over complaints of how many producers are taking unilateral steps of calling members for the shoot. The press release stated that FWICE and CINTAA which has scores of members enrolled in the cadres of Actors, Technicians & Workers need immediate changes implemented in the working system/payment terms before any resumption of shoots. As the working system would change for all with probable health challenges and drop in immunity levels amidst the pandemic crisis in the country, it was mentioned that it is important that all the concerns by the body must be suitably addressed.

Some other points also include life insurance, No pay cuts/discounts will be agreed by Actors/ workers /technicians post resuming to work. Other point included was also that no actor/ technicians/ workers would be replaced for refusing giving discounts on their emoluments and deployment of a well-equipped ambulance along with a paramedical staff (Nurse) and a doctor must be provided at the location.
