Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma is one of the longest-running and most-watched shows right now. The show is about spreading social awareness which is packed in laughter. However, due to the recent coronavirus outbreak, the government has declared a shut down on various places including film shoots. While many shows have stalled their shoots due to the deadly virus, the makers of TMKOC are in no mood to stop. At least that's what Asit Kumar Modi's tweets suggest. The maker has requested the Government to let him shoot for one more in film city and assured that all the preventive guidelines are being followed.

Asit Modi’s tweet read, “@mybmc @bmcmumbai @MaharashtraCmo ⁩ Sir, we are not getting any clarity about this circulars. Suddenly filmcity not allowing us to shoot. We are following preventive guideline to keep hygiene on set and working with smaller unit. Sir, please allow till Tomm.  However, after this tweet was made on Twitter, many fans of the show were not happy with the director’s decision, knowing that the virus is a global threat.

Another tweet of Asit read, "@mybmc ⁩ ⁦ @bmcmumbai Sir please guide us about your circular? All Shootings at all places&Filmcity closed?MIDC, factories, SEZ, Govt off, Pvt off closed from today? Sir please guide. We are taking all precautions suggested by Govt🙏🏻can we shoot with limited unit."

A fan asked him to take care of his people first, “Sir..pls take care of your people first . shooting toh chalti rahegi...If possible pls send them on leave as u might take all care while shooting but people have to travel far by various modes of transport. ..see if this can help..Thanks @whoindia @WHO #CoronavirusOutbreak” Another fan is simply disappointed to see such kind of decision from the director, “SAB se bada rupayya??...Never expected from you and all those who says they miss current episode watch old episodes...they are more funny, entertaining than current ones.”

Meanwhile, the current track in TMKOC is about coronavirus where all the Gokuldham wasis are locked down inside their society due to the virus outbreak.
