Television actress Priya Ahuja has been making the headlines for quite some time now. The actress, who is married to former Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah director Malav Rajda, shares a great bond with her co-star Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal. She has been speaking up about the injustice she had to face at work after her marriage, amidst Bansiwal filing a sexual harassment case on the makers of the show. During a recent interaction, she opened up about not only facing sexist remarks from Asit Kumarr Modi but also why she decided it was time to finally open up about it.
Ahuja went on to reveal that “it's a right away 'No' from the makers” if an actor asks for an off. “They don't even consider it at times. There are a lot of restrictions on working outside the production house,” she adds. She also shed light on the speculations about the team of TMKOC refraining their employees from speaking about the injustice that they face at the hands of the makers. She revealed that even got an ‘indirect message’ from the makers, which is when she decided to speak up.
Talking about her ongoing case, the incident that urged her to take action against the makers of the show happened on March 7. She had informed the makers earlier that she wanted a half day as it was her wedding anniversary and Holi and her daughter was really excited to celebrate the day with her. However, instead of letting her leave, project head Sohail Ramani and executive producer Jatin Bajaj threatened her. According to recent reports, Mumbai police has started an investigation into the complaint of sexual harassment filed by Jennifer against producer Asit Kumarr Modi.
